Gerry
I've spent the last eight years teaching A-Level Further Maths, with a particular interest in complex numbers and differential equations. Many of my students are aiming for A or A* grades, so we spend plenty of time working through unfamiliar exam problems. I teach Edexcel and AQA specifications and regularly use past papers to identify where marks are being lost. I also enjoy showing students alternative methods when a standard approach isn't working.

Hi! I've been tutoring A-Level Further Maths for about four years, mainly helping Year 12 and 13 students with the trickier pure maths topics. Matrices are probably my favourite thing to teach because there's so much you can do with them once the basics make sense. I usually work through a few examples on my tablet before letting students have a go themselves. I'm quite relaxed in lessons, but I do expect students to explain how they've reached an answer.

My background is in mechanical engineering, and I've been teaching A-Level Further Maths privately for six years. I particularly enjoy Further Mechanics, including momentum, collisions and circular motion. Students often find these questions difficult because they require careful interpretation before any calculations begin. My lessons focus on setting up problems correctly, choosing suitable equations and presenting solutions in a way examiners can follow.

Wendy
I started tutoring A-Level Further Maths while completing my degree and have carried on ever since. Most of my lessons are online, and I like using a shared whiteboard so students can write out their working rather than just tell me an answer. Further Statistics is the area I enjoy most, especially hypothesis testing and probability distributions. I also help students get used to the wording of exam questions, which can sometimes be harder than the actual maths.

Lisa
Having worked as a sixth-form mathematics teacher for over six years, I now specialise in individual A-Level Further Maths tuition. I have extensive experience preparing students for OCR and Edexcel examinations, particularly in Further Pure Mathematics. I place considerable emphasis on mathematical reasoning, accurate notation and the logical structure of written solutions. Lessons are planned around the student's current syllabus and areas requiring additional practice.

Noel
Further Maths was my favourite A-Level, so it's been lovely getting to teach it to students who are now in the same position I was a few years ago. I've been tutoring for three years and tend to work with students who find the jump to Core Pure quite steep. We often spend a whole lesson on one difficult question, looking at why certain methods work and others don't. I especially like teaching polar coordinates and series because they encourage a different way of thinking.
